Nunamara

Nunamara is a rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Launceston in the Launceston LGA Region of Tasmania. The locality is about 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) north-east of the town of Launceston. Nestled along the St Patricks River, a tributary of the North Esk River, it serves as a key site for streamflow monitoring. With a population of 305 as of the 2021 Australian census, Nunamara is characterized by an older demographic, with a median age of 45 years. The area is primarily residential, with most homes being standalone dwellings. Notably, Nunamara is the childhood home of Peter Gutwein, the former Premier of Tasmania. The locality is accessible via several major roads, including the Tasman Highway, which runs through the area.
