Flood Risk
Canberra city has relatively low flood risk compared to eastern Australian basins. The Murrumbidgee River and its tributaries (Molonglo River, Tuggeranong Creek) are the primary flood concerns, but most of the central city area is elevated and not within mapped high-risk overlays.
